VENOMOUS SCORPIONS FOUND IN EACH STATE
Let me start by saying that I am not an arachnologist. This page is designed to list the venomous scorpions of each state, but should in no way be considered an authoritative list. This page was compiled from information in the public domain, and has not been reviewed by a professional.
I don't expect everyone to be able to identify all species of scorpions found in their area, but I think it is important that they be able to recognize the dangerously venomous ones. Although many states listed below state that there are no known dangerous species, that does not mean that there are no scorpions at all in that state. All scorpions can inflict a painful sting and should never be picked up or handled.
Please take the time to learn about the dangerously venomous scorpions and other venomous animals of your own area, and teach your children and loved ones about them as well. In addition to the lists below, I have many links on my Venomous Links page that may assist in learning about the dangerously venomous scorpions in your area.
